Publishing Information

In addition to publishing our strategy and objectives, we also publish a range of other information to demonstrate our compliance with the general equality duty.

Equality Information
Equality Information about our population can be found in Section 3 of our Equality and Diversity Plan by clicking here. This is used to inform our equality impact analysis work.

Whilst it is not a specific legal requirement (as the CCG employs less than 150 people), in October 2013, Governing Body members approved the publication of their personal equality and diversity data – click here. This demonstrates their commitment to good leadership and fairness in decision making in relation to promoting equality and diversity.

The CCG is not required to publish equality and diversity information for its staff as it employs less than 150 people. However, as part of a national survey we provided our Workforce Equality and Diversity Profile to NHS England and their report is available here.

Equality Impact Analysis
An Equality Impact Analysis is a way of estimating the likely equality implications of either:

  • The introduction of a new policy, project, or function or,
  • The implementation of an existing policy, project, or function within the organisation.

Once equality implications have been identified, steps can be taken to amend the proposed policy, project or function or amend the way in which it is currently implemented to ensure it is inclusive and does not discriminate (either deliberately or accidentally).

We have developed and implemented a tool and guidance for use by staff to help identify the likely impact.  Specific training has been provided to our CCG members and staff and our Governing Body will consider the results of this analysis during the decision making process.  Governing Body papers and decisions can be found here

Our policies and associated Equality Impact Analyses can be found here. For staff, click here for our EIA Template and for guidelines please click here.

Equality Delivery System
The NHS Equality Delivery System (EDS) tool is designed to support NHS commissioners and providers to deliver better outcomes for patients and communities and better working environments for staff, which are personal, fair and diverse.  The EDS aims to assist organisations to achieve compliance with the Public Sector Equality Duty by encouraging them – in engagement with stakeholders – to review their equality performance and to identify future priorities and actions.

An initial self-assessment was undertaken in June 2013, and can be found here

Joint Strategic Needs Assessment
A joint profile of local population needs is produced each year, this is known as a Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA).   The JSNA pulls together and summarises all existing, relevant information about health and social care trends, as well as local views about what people want from future services. To view please click here

Health Profiles
Health Profiles is a programme to improve availability and accessibility for health and health-related information in England. The profiles give a snapshot overview of health for each local authority in England. Health Profiles are produced annually and can be found here.
