A chance for you to tell us about your experiences of local health services

The NHS is rarely out of the news and the organisation that plans and buys local health services is inviting members of the public to come along to ask questions and talk about their own experiences in an informal drop-in session.

NHS North Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group’s Health Matters 6 event is now being held in November so the CCG can be as up to date as possible when it updates people about what is happening in our area to improve quality and make the most of limited staff and financial resources.

However, CCG Chief Officer Liane Langdon wants to use the time to give local people the opportunity to come and talk to her and other members of the senior team in a much less formal setting.

“There will be no presentations, no slides,” explained Liane. “This is a chance to come along and simply chat to us one to one about the issues that are really important to you. This could be your own experiences of local care or you might have questions about things you’ve seen or read in the media.

“There is a great deal happening in the NHS and people often tell us it feels like change is something that happens to them. This is an opportunity to be more involved by talking first hand to some of the people who make decisions about local health services.”

The event will take place at Heslam Park, Ashby Road, Scunthorpe, (Scunthorpe Rugby Club) on 4th October from 1pm until 4pm with refreshments available from 12.30pm.

If it is more convenient to attend outside office hours, there will also be a ‘bite-size’ evening session on Wednesday 18th October from 5.30 to 7.30pm at the Civic Centre, Scunthorpe.

The new date for Health Matters 6 will be circulated as soon as it is confirmed.

Please reserve your place now by sending an email to nlccg.embrace@nhs.net or ringing Janet Gaiger on 0300 3000 567. If you were planning to attend Health Matters but have decided to wait until the event is rescheduled in November, please let Janet know.
